From The Friendly Year by Henry Van Dyke |
Isn’t that the truth? We were able to enter “saw our first robin” in our Book of Firsts on Tuesday, March 18th.

“Miss Mason looked on education as something between the child’s soul and God. Modern education tends to look on it as something between the child’s brain and the examination board. I think that covers the issues at stake; it is part of the whole modern policy of quick returns, of the substitution of immediate and temporary values for ultimate and absolute ones.” – Monk Gibbon

This is not often the case here in the Sunshine state, but we've sure experienced it this year! We are often swimming by mid-March, but I expect it to be another 3-4 weeks before that's a possibility this season.
Thanks for sharing, Nancy. I look forward to seeing you at the CMI in June.
Blessings,

Amy,
Yes, you are right! I made the change – too many dates to account for up in that little post.
Thanks,
Nancy

Our calendar says TODAY (March 20th) is the first day…strange. I suppose there are variations. Our first robin was sighted on the 18th as well! 🙂 I heard (not saw) a sandhill crane this morning also! 🙂
