Truly, except the Lord build the house, they labour but in vain that build it. When the Lord builds, they labour also—but, not in vain. Where is the promise for the edifying of the sober and righteous and godly Christian character, except as we shall labour, laying brick upon brick? We may well believe that, in this manner, the Lord and Giver of life, Himself, graciously undertakes the office of Parent to every willing and obedient soul. But here is where the privilege and the responsibility of the human parent comes in. During the weak and tender years of the child, the laying of brick to brick falls to the parent—the foundation and the lowermost rounds of the building upon whose stability the safety of the whole depends. It rests with the parent to initiate goodness as it were: to lay such habits of well-doing and well-being as are fit to support a building of God, and able to bear the weight of the superstructure…Therefore, it behooves parents to study the principles of this divine architecture which is their vocation. – Charlotte Mason

It turned out to be a highlight of the weekend as their candid and sometimes surprising answers encouraged everyone. This recording is for dads AND moms who want to hear from a remarkable and experienced group of fathers.
